As the daughter of a famous, pioneering surgeon, Meredith Grey struggles with both her personal and professional life as she continues her residency at Seattle Grace hospital. Between interacting with her half-sister and intern Lexie, dealing with her new marriage to Dr. Derek Shepard, and her professional life, she faces many dramatic and frustrating events. Also experiencing trials and romances along with Meredith are fellow doctors Cristina Yang, Izzie Stevens, George O'Malley and Alex Karev.

Sexual content is heavy, with characters engaging in sex frequently, and sex-related dialogue and innuendo common. Foul language primarily consists of the words “ass,” “bitch,” “damn,” and “hell.” As the show is based in a hospital medical procedures are shown in great detail, with blood, open wounds and surgery being frequent.

Grey’s Anatomy is not recommended for viewers under age 18.
