Explicit MTV Movie Awards Proves Need for Cable Choice

MTV Knowingly Subjected the Audience to Explicit Content

During the MTV award show, Actor Sacha Baron Cohen was lowered from the ceiling to present an award and landed head first in rapper Eminem’s lap with his bare buttocks in the rapper’s face – exposing cable viewers to this sight during the live show.  It was reported that this was a scripted stunt, meaning that MTV knew about this before it aired. more

Call Your Senators Today and Demand FCC Commissioners Who Will Take a Stand Against Indecency!
Three seats on the five-member commission are soon to be filled: The President's pick for Chairman, Julius Genachowski -- about whom we know very little, especially regarding his intent to enforce decency standards -- will almost certainly be confirmed by the Senate before the August recess. On May 4 the PTC scored yet another major victory in our fight to protect children and families from indecent content airing on the broadcast airwaves. Today the Supreme Court ordered the Third Circuit Court of Appeals to reexamine its ruling that gutted the $550,000 fine levied by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) against CBS. The FCC fined CBS for allowing Janet Jackson's "striptease" to be aired during the 2004 Super Bowl, which shocked tens of millions of unsuspecting families and children.  more
